Here’s a little about us…

Rhian, Camp Director

Rhian (she/hers) is originally from Tryon, North Carolina, a small town at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She moved to Bozeman after graduating from Brown University to work at Big Sky Resort, where she ski instructed and then became the Seasonal Programs Supervisor for two seasons. In addition to three winters at the resort, Rhian has coached a girls' soccer team for four seasons, backpack guided for Moonlight Basin and Adventure Treks, and worked at Camp Pinnacle in Hendersonville, NC, for the better part of five summers as a counselor and trip leader. She genuinely loves working with kids and looks forward to the opportunity to continue facilitating experiences for children to learn and grow while getting outside.

In her own time, Rhian will take any chance she gets to be outside in the sun, whether skiing, paddling, mountain biking, or playing soccer/ultimate frisbee!

Megan, Camp Supervisor

I have lived in many different places throughout my life. I was born in Hawaii, then moved to Texas, Colorado, Ohio, and Florida. I went back to Hawaii for university where I got my degree in English. After graduating university, I moved to the small town of Talkeetna, Alaska for the summer. The following year I worked a summer season in Yellowstone, where I fell in love with the surrounding area and decided that I wanted to stay for as long as possible, but wasn’t done traveling just yet. In the middle of COVID, I moved to South Korea where I taught English as a second language for two years before deciding that it was time to come back to the States, and moved to Big Sky in the summer of 2023. During the fall season, I went back home to Florida and worked as a volunteer in the wildlife rehabilitation center at Alaqua Animal Refuge before joining Moonlight Basin as the Kid’s Rec Supervisor in December 2023.

When I’m not working, you can find me taking naps in my car in Yellowstone, hiking on nearby trails in the summer, or snowboarding in the winter months.

Grace, Camp Counselor

Grace (she/her) is originally from the San Diego area, where she fell in love with camping, hiking, and backpacking in the Laguna Mountains. While living there, she volunteered with Girl Scouts San Diego leading hiking and backpacking classes. After graduating high school, she took a gap year that included adventures like thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, backpacking around Colombia and Peru, and working a winter season doing Kids Care at Moonlight Basin! During the school year, she's working on her applied math degree at UC Berkeley and working at the Student Environmental Resource Center as the resources and operations associate. She always looked forward to summer camp growing up, and is so excited to be returning to Big Sky in the summer as a counselor!

In her free time, she loves climbing, hiking/trail-running, skiing, and reading.

Ted, Camp Counselor

Having grown up in Vail, CO and of Swedish descent, the mountains are in my blood. I've skied since I was 2 and love doing most things outdoors, except mountain climbing. My favorite activities are skiing, rafting, live music, camping, backpacking, and mountain biking. You'll most likely find me on the Gallatin River on summer afternoons.

I came to Montana State University for my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and fell in love with Montana. Every time I travel to new places in the US and around the world, I'm happier to call this place home. I've taught children's ski school for 15 years and thoroughly enjoy educating, mentoring, and inspiring the next generation. Throughout this process, I've been able to maintain these mentoring relationships' with local children and vacationing families that I've taught for 7-10 years. I look forward to sharing this passion with the children at Camp Moonlight.

Jackie, Camp Counselor

Hi I’m Jackie! I am one of 5 children originally from a small beach town on the coast of Boston. This will be my second season at Moonlight Basin after falling in love with Montana this winter! Before finding Moonlight Basin I was lucky enough to be a live-in nanny for a family of 6 children for many many years gaining awesome memorable experience. In addition, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching nutritional cooking classes to children. In my off time, I’m passionate about all things outside—whether it’s hiking, snowboarding, or simply exploring nature. I have also been lucky enough to travel all over the world, which has fueled my love for adventure and new experiences. I graduated with a degree in Nutritional Sciences and love sharing my knowledge of health and wellness with kids. Helping them discover new adventures and connect with the natural world is something I truly enjoy. I’m all about creating fun, active experiences that inspire curiosity and healthy living! I’m excited for another amazing season filled with fun, growth, and connection!

Grace, Camp Counselor

Hi, I’m Grace (she/her) from the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York. I’m currently studying at the State University of New York at Geneseo, working toward dual certification in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. I love working with children of all ages and am passionate about creating supportive, engaging learning environments. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, baking, traveling, spending time with friends, and going to concerts—big and small— to see some of my favorite bands live. I’m especially excited for my first summer in Big Sky at Moonlight Basin!

Ty, Camp Counselor

Ty is originally from Louisiana and has a huge passion for traveling and a constant itch for exploring new places. Since Louisiana doesn't offer many opportunities for hiking or outdoor adventures, he takes every chance to pack a bag and hit the road. Some of his favorite destinations so far include Yellowstone National Park, Telluride, and Capitol Reef National Park.

For the past three years, Ty has worked in childhood development as a Certified Fitness Trainer at KidStrong. Helping children grow in confidence and bravery is something he truly loves.

Ty's favorite part of traveling is the road trip itself—especially when shared with friends—and the beauty of nature at each destination. In his free time, Ty enjoys type-2 fun and thrives on challenges, whether it's working out, running, swimming, or biking. He’s excited to meet all the campers and can't wait to adventure together!
